About Shana Abraham

HER STORY

Shana is a 23-year old global health enthusiast, Duke alumna, and is a passionate advocate for women and girl’s rights. Growing up Indian-American, she found there was very limited support for women due to the heavy patriarchal influences in both the South Asian and American cultures.

She wrote RISE as a toolkit for young women to break down barriers to their success, and founded RISE Women (@risewomenco), an online platform to highlight women changemakers while also providing actionable strategies and opportunities to elevate women around the world.

Since releasing her book, Shana has been invited to speak at conferences/events hosted by Girl Up, the University of Southern California, UC Berkeley, Arizona State University, Monsoon Inc., and more. She has been featured on BrownGirlMag’s GenZ Womxn to Watch list and several podcasts and platforms highlighting her work.
